Take a short holiday

Buying a cheap holiday to Spain for a week or two is becoming increasingly popular amongst eczema sufferers. It's a great way to give your skin a head start, with the salty sea water and the sun giving your skin the essential treatment that your skin needs.

Is going on holiday a waste of money for Eczema sufferers?

I see what you mean, usually about a week or two after you've been on holiday your skin is back to its horrid self. That is because people think their eczema is cured for life and they stop treating their skin. The sun and sea will give your skin a tremendous boost, but you have to continue treating your eczema by doing your usual daily routine treatment morning and night.

Why is the sea and sun good for your skin?

The sea salt contains high concentrated number of minerals and the sun contains a variety of vitamins, commonly vitamin D and C. You can get all this in a supplement, but it's nowhere near as effective as these powerful elements of the sea, sun and the pure air. You can smell the gorgeous blossom without sneezing or rubbing your eyes, washing your face with water doesn't make your skin dry and many other benefits.

Where can I go?

There are a many places where you can go to get the sea and the sun for a very reasonable price. Most commonly Spain is a very popular destination for this kind of holiday. You can have a few days on a gorgeous beach, visit places of interest, relax on the balcony overlooking the shimmering sea. Wherever you go make sure it's hot and there is a beach nearby. Don't use the swimming pool because they contain chlorine, which irritate the skin and you can easily get an infection because the pools abroad are not cleaned frequently.

Which sun tan lotion should I use?

There are hundreds of sun tan lotions that claim to be suitable for people with eczema. You need a sun tan lotion which is good for sensitive skin and a high factor between 10-16, this has closed the gap a bit more! The most important thing is to keep your skin safe and try not to force yourself to have a glowing tan. Your tan will come, but don't push too hard because sun burnt with eczema doesn't sound like a pleasant way to spend your holiday. You can use you're moisturizing cream as an after sun treatment. This is exactly the same as cleansing your face in the morning with cotton wool pads. Take a look at the link below, to find sun tan lotions I have tried and recommend.
